Beta-Catenin Plasma Test: Liver Fibrosis Degree Assessment in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients

چکیده
Liver fibrosis caused by chronic hepatitis B infection leads to significant mortality and morbidity. Monitoring evaluation of liver progression depend on the ability detect fibrosis. biopsy as a gold standard for is an invasive technique, while Fibroscan ® with transient elastography non-invasive technique has limitation. Therefore, biomarker needed Beta-catenin multifunctional protein, which Wnt-regulated transcription factor resides in hepatocytes. Hepatitis virus activates Wnt/beta-catenin affects expression target genes This study aimed analyze diagnostic performance plasma beta-catenin levels using reference assess degree patients infection. was observational analytic cross-sectional design. The analysis performed 70 between December 2020 January 2021 at Dr. Moewardi Hospital, Surakarta. ROC used determine cut-off point. best AUC point chosen 2x2 test table. 73.132 pg/mL 0.793 (CI 95%: 0.681-0.906; p<0.001), indicating that results were statistically p<0.05. Sensitivity 74.3%; specificity 71.4%; PPV 72.2%; NPV 73.5%; LR (+) 2.6; (-) 0.36 obtained. level <73.132 pg/mL. A total 26 subjects risk >8 kPa. Plasma had moderate marker.

Determining the progression stages of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B
Introduction: Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) leads to liver fibrosis, its failure, and death in the long term. The stage of fibrosis in CHB patients can also be detected based on the biochemical markers. The aim of this study was to predict the state of liver fibrosis in CHB patients and determine the possibility of patients shifting from a given state to another one. Materials and Methods: This stu...
متن کاملCombination of Transient Elastography and an Enhanced Liver Fibrosis Test to Assess the Degree of Liver Fibrosis in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B
Background/Aims Liver stiffness (LS) was assessed using transient elastography, and the enhanced liver fibrosis (ELF) test was performed to accurately assess fibrotic burden. We validated the LS-ELF algorithm and investigated whether the sequential LS-ELF algorithm performs better than concurrent combination of these analyses in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. Methods Between 2009 and 201...
متن کاملComparison of non-invasive assessment to diagnose liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B and C patients.
OBJECTIVE Chronic viral hepatitis B and C cause liver fibrosis, leading to cirrhosis. Fibrosis assessment is essential to establish prognosis and treatment indication. We compared seven non-invasive tests, separately and in combination, in chronic hepatitis patients to detect early stages of fibrosis according to the Metavir score in liver biopsy. MATERIAL AND METHODS Galactose and methacetin...
متن کاملEvaluation of miR-101 Level in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection and Liver Cirrhosis
ABSTRACT Background and Objective: MiRNAs are small RNAs that are expressed in most eukaryotes, and can regulate gene expression by attaching to the 3’ end of target mRNA. MicroRNA-101 (miR-101) post-transcriptional regulation is important for host-virus interactions. In addition, miR-101 has a tumor suppressive role in liver cancer and metastasis, an...
متن کاملCan Viral Load Predict Liver Histology in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis B?
Introduction: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a global public health problem. Serum HBV DNA measurement is a non-invasive test that predicts the liver disease progression. The aim of this study was to determine the HBV DNA level and look for a relation between the HBV DNA level and liver histology. Methods: This was a cross sectional study on chronic...
